Honoring America’s Warriors provides disabled veterans who qualify, via our online application, asisstance dogs and training program. The program requires participation in our training program that will tailor the training for the exact requirements of the veteran. We provide the animal, training, emergency veterinary care for low income veterans, and service vests. This is at no cost to that participant. The program requires a commitment to training by the participant.
Our service dogs are trained to do specific tasks for a person that he or she cannot do because of a disability.Service dogs can pick things up, guide a person with vision impairment, or help someone who falls or loses balance easily. For example, a service dog can help a blind person walk down the street, or get dangerous things out of the way when someone is having a seizure, detect irregular blood sugar levels, and post traumatic stress.Protecting someone, giving emotional support, or being a companion do not qualify a dog to be a service animal. To be a service animal, a dog must go through formal training.
Grroup training session for 2019 will be every Sunday at 2:00 p.m. HAW HQ located at 1301 Cornell Parkway STE 700 Oklahoma City, OK 73108.
